BACKGROUND
TEAM NIGERIA TRUST FUND (TNTF) was established to create a conductive and enduring platform for corporate participations in sports.
TNTF was created by the government, but it is privately funded and privately run.
It is an independent body that corporate organisations can channel their sponsorship fund for redistribution to their sport(s) of interest and all the sports Federations.
All the 30 sports Federations/Associations are covered by TNTF.
International events for all sports Federations/Associations operate under and are assisted by TNTF
The establishment of TNTF has brought discipline and orderliness to sports planning and resource allocations.
Though TNTF has made commendable impact on sports planning and development, the Agency needs to be better positioned.
The broad objectives of TNTF needs to be better positioned to stakeholders and by extension the general public.
Strategic positioning of TNTF through integrated marketing communications will help to enhance its deliverable and ultimately its relevance to sports development in Nigeria.

Team Nigeria Trust Fund came into being following the inauguration of its Board of Trustees by President Olusegun Obasanjo on May 30 2006.The eleven -member Board is made up of:

Though team Nigeria Trust fund was conceptualized and established by Government, its however run and managed as a private sector organisation.The company is basically a sport marketing and fund raising comapny limited by Guarantee.It is an umbrella comapny to cater for the commercial activities of all the sports federation in national sports Commission and provides an avenue where private sector organisation can measure the level of achievements their Sponsorships brings and the valiue they are able to get from it.The structure of the comapany as a private sector driven organisation is expected to arouse some level of trust and confident in corporates Nigeria from whom sponsorship funds are sought. The company has established functional offices in its Abuja Corporate Headquaters and Lagos Regional office complete with internet facility and its own Websites.The Company funded the African Woman number, one seed in Badminton, Grace Daniel of Nigeria, tO Proceed on a two year training and tournaments course to China and Germany that will blend into the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games. We are also happy to report that this trainnning contributed to her performance at the 9th All Africans Games in Algiers where she won three Gold medal for Nigeria.
We made contributions towards the hosting of the fifth African woman football Championship that took place in Delta state, Nigeria,Between October 28 and November 12, 2006 where Nigeria Falcons retain the African Crown and in the process qualified for the 2007 FIFA WOMEN WORLD CUP FINALS IN CHINA.
We provided Logistic support and co-sponsored the succesful hosting of the first association of Nation Olympic Commitee of Africa, ANOCA ZONE 111 GAMES IN ABUJA, Between November 12, and 16, 2006,Where Nigeria
beat 7 other Africa country to top the medals table.We mid-wived the assistant rendered to the current African fastest Man and the 3rd fastest man in the world, OLUSOJI FASUBA by skpe BANK FOR
HIM TO CONTINUE HIS PARTICIPATION IN THE 2007 EUROPEAN ATHLETES SEASONS.He also won a number of Gold medal for nigeria at the recently concluded 9th All African Games in Algiers.
We gavefinancial support for the last Abuja athletic grand prix and to our athletes and the recently concluded 9th All African Games.We supported participation at the games in algiers, PAYED WINNING BONUS TO OUR ATHLETES FOR EVERY GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE Won for Nigeria.We provided part financing to cover the insurance of our contigent to the games and supported the National Sports Commission when Goverment funding for the games was late at coming,in addition to provided complimentary kits for our contigents to the games.
To serve the needs of nigerians for constant information as to our preparation for the games we ran and 11(Eleven Weeks) Network Programme on NTA and 16weeks (Twice Weekly)Programme on Ray Power 100.5 FM radio, During which we carried the commercial and jingles of our sponsors free.
